Ever seen someone who looks like they have no idea what they're doing behind the wheel of a car you know they wont be able to handle? Yes, no, maybe?
I begin by telling you that I washed my car that Sunday before the hour and twenty minute trek back to school (nearly 90 miles, mostly highway).
(two bucket method in the shade, never wash a car in direct sunlight)
Me washing my car has zero relevance to my story but I shall continue. I was traveling southbound on interstate 287 on the way to merge onto interstate 78 towards my school. It was a Sunday afternoon around 2pm, the traffic was moderate. There was the typical packs of about 10-15 cars with 1/2 mile long gaps between packs with scattered cars in between. It was a beautiful sunny day, I had my windows cracked on both sides with about a 4 inch gap and my sunroof tilted in the upwards position with the A/C off enjoying the early autumn air. I was breaking through a small pack of wild traffic going a casual speed, nothing crazy just cursing a little fast in the middle lane. The suddenly a white C7 corvette darts from behind traffic and comes barreling down on me like a crazed cheetah chasing down it's prey. He screams past me on my RIGHT, a major pet peeve of mine. Then in the distance (8-10 car lengths) he applies a heavy breaking foot and slows to about 55mph until I get alongside, maybe he noticed that I was no normal 5 series. I'm looking at the car and there's multiple red flags, not including a new white with red interior convertible corvette driven by.... I'll just list them.

He was a younger male approximately late 20's early 30's rocking a Macklemore style hairdo looking like he owned the place with his designer raybands, shiny silver watch, super cool silver necklace above his shirt and to top it off he had an absolutely terrible seating position. (does the C7 come in auto?) His friend in the car was also appropriately dressed in similar attire. The driver had one hand on the wheel, his left with a nice watch, the other was pointed in the air. He was waving his index finger at me and I can read his lips "dude race me?" I look in front of me only to see that the cars ahead are getting closer and closer as we move along. I look back at him and shake my head no and give him the "are you crazy" look while pointing to my head. Pretty boy did not like my response, looks at his friend laughs then punches the gas. Ok the car did sound good, I'll give it that. Looking ahead I see him dart from the far right lane cutting off two cars in the middle and left lane, one car was laying on their horn. He clearly had no clue what he was doing and the kind of danger he can ensue on the road. I wish no harm on anyone but he deserves some kind of lesson.
I just had to share that experience because it made me upset that some people can be so ignorant for safety. Plus the temp tag only tells me the car is barely a month old... take it to a track, leave the street alone.

he kept heading south on 287, I wouldn't doubt it.

I don't get why people feel the need to show off so damn much. My tiny little car can break the speed limit to the tune of 30mph, it's meaningless.

I have a 911 Carrera 4, I just ignore douches like that which doesn't fuel their pride and only pisses them off. It's a busy traffic street, get real asshats.

Lotus Elise in downtown Seattle down by Pike Place Market. A young guy was driving and absolutely did not know how to use a manual transmission. He was grinding and sputtering like there was no tomorrow. Why anybody who did not have a really good grasp of a stick shift would drive a car with little low end torque around the steep hills of downtown Seattle is beyond me. The car did look good, though.

I mean I'll entertain people but only when conditions permit. ONLY when I deem it safe.

My dad is planning to get a F10 550i like yours. Are there any options that you would suggest getting? Also how is the ride with the M package that you have?

Is he planning on optioning out a new one?
I have essentially every practical option. HUD, rear heated seats, etc. It would be easier to tell you what I don't have lol, the only options I don't have are the surround view parking assist and night vision.
Being honest the only one I ever use on a daily basis is the HUD, everything else doesn't matter to me. Sure the rear heated seats are nice but they rarely get used, night vision is a novelty and the parking assist is just another cool novelty. The cars come optioned out well in my opinion. The only option that is NEEDED (in my opinion) would be the adaptive headlights, as I am a firm believer in the better brighter headlights for clear visibility in the dark.
I will make a OPPPO review of my car soon, when I have time.
The ride is not bad, it is a bit fluffy (even with the Msport) so I opted for the DINAN spring kit to stiffen it up and it feels much better.

The one that we configured is pretty much the same as your except in black (without the rear heated seats, night vision, stuff that isn't necessary). Also, does it come with a back up camera or do you have to get the surround view package?

I believe with the tech package it has a backup camera, ask your dealer because i'm not 100% sure!
